Hip Case 4

Clinical History:

F24 dancer with persistent antero-lateral hip pain after recent hip hyperextension injury.

Imaging:

REVEAL DIAGNOSIS

Diagnosis:

Subacute strain at the femoral insertion of anterior hip capsule

Discussion:

MRI shows localised hyperintense thickening at the femoral insertion of anterior hip capsule, consistent in the given clinical context with a subacute strain injury. NOTE:  AXIAL = axial fat-suppressed PD-weighted image. AX-OBL = axial-oblique PD-weighted image. SAG = sagittal fat-suppressed PD-weighted image.
