Ankle Case 1

Clinical History:

M13 with heel pain during athletic activity. Xray normal. Very localised tenderness over the medial side of calcaneal tuberosity.

Imaging:

REVEAL DIAGNOSIS

Diagnosis:

Severs disease

Discussion:

The area of clinical tenderness correlated with a focally thickened and hyperaemic physial plate of calcaneal apophysis with mild irregularity of the marginating apophysial ossification centre (arrowheads). These changes were not apparent at the growth plate elsewhere.
