Diagnosis:
ITB friction syndrome at lateral femoral condyle.
Discussion:
Axial (top left) and sagittal (top right) fat-saturated PD-weighted MR images of the ITB at lateral femoral condyle level are correlated with ultrasound images at the same location. Both imaging tests show features of localised chronic sub-ITB adventitial bursitis (arrows) secondary to friction between the overlying ITB (arrowheads) and lateral femoral condyle.
